When I was young I used to drive past houses and dream of what they would be like inside, all I wanted to do was knock on the door and have a look around. It would be the facades that caught my attention. The great thing about admiring the facades was that even if the inside happened to be terrible you could dream up a wonderful interior. You could design it as you wished it to be in your imagination. The funny thing is, I still do this today. I look at the exterior and imagine what they would look like inside. If I actually get to see inside in a magazine, book, blog or portfolio I get so excited. Most of the time I am happily surprised. But the funny thing is that I sometimes get a little disappointed when the inside doesn't look like what I imagined it to be. It is like I want to go inside and re-arrange a few things or change the decor around but I cant. So I have concluded that sometimes it is better to just imagine.

What a lovely dreamy post! Now back to reality.... :(
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I thought I was the only one who did that craziness of imagining houses on the inside and wanting to see, etc. Nice to know I have company. :) AND, the house shown in the 4/5th pictures is exactly the facade I want for my dream house! We plan to build next year and although I have imagined it in my mind and done sketches, I haven't come across a picture. Thank you so much! You will see that picture again when I get to doing a series on my dream house ideas! You made my day!!! :)
