Dark Spaces

Although I dont normally go for dark spaces in my own home, I really love them. They are really striking and really make a statement. Here are some of my favorites.

Girly Space

Don't you just wish that sometimes you could design your space with only you in mind. Something girly and fun that nobody could make negative comments about. I think this space is adorable.

Simply Stylish

 There is something that I love about black and white interiors, they seem to always look clean and sophisticated. Even a room that has been simply styled like this one still looks complete and polished. I love this space it is very bright and fresh.

My pics from July/August Elle Decor

Here are my fav's from the July/August issue of Elle Decor. I was really drawn the easy going beachy interiors.  They are all so light and airy. 

 

Above: How great would this outside bar be in summer. 

I think more homes should be designed to be opened up in the warmer months to create indoor/outdoor living spaces. 

Above: This room is so cozy and lived in. I love all of the pieces that look as though they have been collected over time. I also love stripes so of course this picture jumped out at me.

 Above: There is something about the symmetry in this picture. It really looks complete.

Above: A cozy place to read a book, drink wine, play board games or just hang out with the family. I love spaces that are less formal and can be enjoyed. 

Summer is on my mind

Winter in Melbourne is miserable most of the time so I am craving a little sunshine. Thank god the sun is out this morning it is a little teaser of whats to come. I am escaping the cold winter in August to travel to the summer in the US. Bring on the warm weather I cant wait. I flicked through the new issue of High Gloss this morning which made my craving a little worse. It was full of bright colours and beautiful places. In particular I loved the pops of yellow. How gorgeous are these pics!

Designer of the day: Smith Boyd Interiors

It has been ages since I featured a designer of the day. But I recently stumbled across Smith Boyd Interiors and felt that he was deserving. Maybe it is the winter weather but I have been craving luxurious colours, textures and fittings. Smith Boyd Interiors has captured just that. Some of his spaces are a little extravagant for my liking, but I appreciate how he pulls his spaces together.

Bright colours are definitely in this season I have been seeing them everywhere. There is no better way to be inspired than with this gorgeous picture of Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere.
