Chic Beach House.

How chic is this beach house designed by Elsa Soyars, the clean crisp neutral colour pallet makes the space soft and serene, yet there are pops of colour and playful elements in the space that make it vibrant and comfortable. I think Elsa has cleverly designed this space in a way that is different from typical beachy interiors and designed it with a modern and fresh take on a beach side look.

RED

For some reason these images have been jumping out at me lately.
Must be something about red chairs....?

Making changes

You may have noticed that I have made a few changes around here. It was time for a re-fresh and a little decoration. Shari from Little Blue Deer did such a great job re-designing my blog. I cant stop looking at it! She has also done more fabulous designs that you can check out on her blog.

Fashion 2 Interiors

I absolutely love Olivia Palermo's Style, she always looks effortlessly chic. I adore this little lace dress she is wearing. So I thought I would create a room around her look.  This is what I came up with.

Doors in Rome

When my husband and I were in Rome in August I was fascinated by all the amazing doors. Because the buildings in Rome are so old I thought it was really interesting how you could tell where the wealthy areas are based on the condition of the door and door bell not so much the building. The doors were so grand and beautiful that I thought I would share them with you.

Kelly Hoppen iphone app.

I wanted to quickly mention this iphone app by Kelly Hoppen. I just bought it for $5.99 on itunes and I'm just downloading it now. Cant wait to check it out. You can check out more details here

After Note: I wanted to quickly mention how the app was.
-
-I love that Kelly has included videos and step by step instructions on how to do room and shelving make overs. She has also included various looks that would be suitable for different interiors, which is good because that way you can pick a design that reflects your style. I also think Kelly's style is one that is suitable for everyone, so all of her designs are very appropriate. Overall I loved the app and found it very inspiring. I just hope she adds some more of her great tips and videos. She is such a wonderful designer!

COPY CAT

A while ago I wrote about this fabulous apartment, but what really stood out the most was the artwork. It was bold and fun and something a little different. When I saw this picture it just jumped out at me so I decided to re-create it for our guest bedroom. A canvas and a little black paint can do wonders. This is how it turned out.

Stop me in my tracks.

As I scroll through images and flick through blogs for inspiration I always love those pictures that stop you in your tracks. I think it is interesting how some images jump out at you an keep interested even though you may not know why. Sometimes it is the angle of the photo or the colours used in the picture that catch your attention, its not necessarily always the design of the space. Here are some pics that have caught my attention lately.
