Apartments Sixty Four Barcelona

While we were in Barcelona we stayed at Apartments Sixty Four. It was right on the Passeig de Gracia one of the most stunning and bustling streets in Barcelona. Apart from its perfect location it was also a great place to stay. It came equipped with its own kitchen and separate bathrooms and living areas. Which was perfect because we were staying with my husbands father so we all had our own space.

The apartment was designed and styled really well. I was actually quite surprised that it looked better than the pictures on their website. Although my pictures do not do the apartment justice, hopefully you can get an idea of what it was like.

One of my favorite features was this gallery wall. It made the space feel homely and more like a boutique apartment rather than a huge hotel.

They also had these cute little book shelves with a selection of books to read during your stay (not that I got a chance to!)

Book print wallpaper was used which created an illusion of extra space. Such a great idea. It almost looked real.

The bedroom was very serine. The pillows were stylish and the king size bed was fantastic. I want to buy a king size bed now! Shame the hubby won't let me.

Beautiful Barcelona

For those who follow my Instagram you will already know I have been travelling for the last 6 weeks. While I was away I thought I would be posting daily but I found it almost impossible because I was out all day and then back late at night. Now that I am back home I finally have the time to share my journey with you all. As expected I took way too many pictures, but I tried to narrow it down as much as I could. Here are some of my favorite things about Barcelona.

 The gorgeous Gaudi architecture

 The Beaches

 Oh my the food.....

Stunning streets

 Did I mention the food

Little pretty details in the buildings

 The scenery everywhere was breathtaking

Fresh fruit juice

A few changes

You may have noticed that we have been making a few changes around here. Ava has been hard at work updating our blog design. Very clever baby!

Or should I say Shari from Little Blue Deer did an amazing job updating my blog for me.
Thanks Shari.

I hope everyone enjoys my new design as much as I do.

Our stay at the Wynn Las Vegas

As promised I wanted to share our stay at the Wynn Las Vegas. My husband has conferences in Vegas every year so I think it was about the sixth time we stayed at the Wynn. We like this hotel because it is a little more relaxing than some of the other hotels on the strip. It is away from the hustle and bustle and is also very bright and luxurious (unlike some of the other dark and dingy casinos in Vegas). Normally we stay in a standard King room, but this time we were lucky to be upgraded to a Salon suite! It was seriously amazing. With 1,950 square feet of living space we certainly didn't know what to do with ourselves.

The room is very typical vegas style accommodation. They tend to do things on a grand scale in Vegas. Normally I find the accommodation in some of the other hotels to be a little OTT. Yet the Wynn has managed to put together a suite that is comfortable and luxurious.

I really loved some of the artwork that was used throughout the space. Very classic and simple.

Foyer that has a massage room on one side and a smaller bathroom on the other.

The living room was massive. We were in Vegas for a week so it was really nice having the extra space with a 5 month old to kick around in.

The suite also has a dinning area which came in handy. Rather than eating out every night it meant we could order room service for some of the nights.

I really wanted to take this lamp home with me.

The room has a massive corner bar as well (not that we used it much, other than for bottled water). But I am sure if you were coming to Vegas to party like most people do then this would be fantastic.

I adored this little side table!

Below is a floor plan of the suite to give you a better idea of the entire space.

Thanks Wynn for the upgrade!

Hello Cali

I crept out of bed this morning while bubba is still sleeping so that I could do a quick post. I have been crazy busy lately with all of this travelling we have been doing. First stop was Los Angeles. We stayed at the Viceroy in Santa Monica which was gorgeous. I wanted to do a more detailed post on the hotel but I did not get around to taking many pictures. My husband managed to snap a few of the room we stayed in but the pictures are not the best quality. Sorry!

Anyway I thought I would still share my thoughts on the experience and add some eye candy of what the hotel really looks like.

We stayed in the beach view king room that overlooked the Santa Monica beach. It was nice to wake up and look outside at the water, but to be honest we were out most of the day so we didn't get to enjoy it that much.

The room was as I expected it to be from the pictures on their website. Although it had a cold atmosphere. Its hard to explain why, I think it might be because the green looks really great in professional pictures but in real life it is not really a great mood lifter for me.

The rest of the decor though was very charming. The plates on the wall, the cute dog lamp and the wallpaper was stunning.

The bathroom was nice, white marble always makes me happy. It also had this gorgeous little lucite stool. I wanted to take it home with me.

Here are the profesional pictures from their website, seeing as my pictures dont do the hotel justice.

The lobby area and pool was actually the best part of the hotel. It was devine and unlike the room it had a good feel to it. Above is the front reception area. The hardwood floors were a great feature and the green worked well in the lobby area for some reason. The space is more light and open so it probably helps. I also really loved the gallery wall of mirrors. Throughout the hotel there are lots of cute little quirky touches that make the hotel very adorable. Overall we loved the hotel and the staff were also very friendly.

P.S I managed to get some better pictures of the Wynn in Vegas which I will be sharing soon.
