Yes please

The amount of time I have to read magazines these days has diminished rather quickly. So much so that when I get a new digital copy of a magazine I have started looking at the thumbnails only. If I see something that looks good I will open the page rather than reading through the whole mag. Sad I know, but if I didn't my subscriptions would go to waste. I have also being starting from the back of my magazines that arrive in the mail. They seem to have all the good articles in the back. Ahhh how life changes when you have a bubba.

Here are the pics that jumped out at me from this months issue of Australian Home Beautiful.

Designer of the day: Haus Interior

It has been a while since I have featured a designer of the day, so I thought it was well overdue. Haus Interior is a homeware store that is based in New York and also in LA. After looking at their online store I discovered that they also offer a design service. Their interiors are just stunning! Every space in their portfolio was really funky and modern I wanted to share them all. But I must be restrained and only share a few of my fav's.

Kelly Hoppen does it again.

As I have mentioned several times Kelly Hoppen is one of my favorite designers. Her spaces are always so functional yet stylish. They are spaces that are designed so you can come in and add your little touches, but the base is already laid out for you. There are plenty of designers who's work I love, although I wouldn't actually have them design my home. For me the space has to be practical and something that lasts over time. You dont want to have to do a complete re-design every year. Rather you want a space that has everything you need, but you can change small things like artwork etc when you feel like something different.

Here Kelly has done it again! Whilst browsing her Facebook page I came across this stunning space, it is the Barlki Virgin House in Moscow. It is just devine.

Now this is what I call FUN!

I have always been a neutral girl, so I really admire people who add lots of colour into their homes. It adds a little bit of whimsy and fun to the space. Check out these spaces from the July issue of Living Etc.

Top 5 Designer Baby Bags

Now that I have to put away my handbags and traded them for a diaper bag I wanted to find something that still looks stylish. I hate baby bags that look like baby bags, you know the ones with bright colours and pictures all over them! So I tried to find some bags that could almost pass as a handbag. Here are a list of some of the best diaper bags I have found so far.

1. Helena - Stone is new to Storksak but their baby bags have been much loved by celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba for a long time. The Helena is stylish yet practical and hardly looks anything like a diaper bag.

 2. Ill Tutto is also a hugely popular baby bag brand. Their bags are really well made and are a good size. My sister has this Chiara bag for her two daughters and she has been using it for about 4 years now. So they really last well.

 3. I actually purchased a similar baby bag for Ava but they dont stock it anymore, so this large O baby tote is the alternative that is currently still available. Oroton bags are extremely well made and are also very practical. I have been loving mine!

 4. I have had my eye on this Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Elizababy
bag for a while now. I like that it is light weight and easy to use. If you are lugging a bag full of baby clothes and nappies it is good to have something that is not to heavy. My husband and I are travelling around the world in July and I am thinking of getting this bag to take with us.

5. Last but not least is the Nylon stripe Harmony baby bag from Kate Spade. I always love a classic tote so this would be a perfect pick for long term use. The tote never goes out of style. This bag is also very practical and has little clips for attaching it to the pram which is very clever alternative to the long straps that are on most baby bags.

Lovely Linen

While I was pregnant with Ava I was so excited to plan her room for her arrival. It is the one time when you can go out and buy everything you need all at once. While researching linen options I discovered Red Plum Linen. They allow you to custom design your own duvet cover from their gorgeous range of fabrics. Here is what I selected.

 Candy Stripe

Candy Lattice

Here are some more of their other designs. I could have easily bought them all.

Keeping me busy

I have found it so hard to find the time to blog lately because this little one is keeping me busy. It has been such an adjustment and one that I am still getting used to. It is amazing how much your life changes once you have a child. I dont know what I did with all my spare time before. I am especially missing reading all my favorite blogs. I cant complain too much though because I have this cutie pie to play with instead. Here are some recent pics. She loves to pull different facial expressions for the camera. Such a poser already.

Newborn baby essentials

Since becoming a new mum I have quickly discovered that there are some things that I could not live without. Well maybe I could, but they definitely make things a whole lot easier. Aside from the obvious essentials like nappies and wipes and so on, here is a list of the things that make my day better.

1. Aden & Anais bamboo swaddles. They are so soft, light weight and cuddly and are great for swaddling your baby to sleep.

2. Bonds maternity singlets. They are great for easy access while breast feeding, well made and comfortable.

3. Cloth nappies of any kind. I bought this brand but there are plenty to chose from. I go through so many of these on a daily basis. Not as a nappy, but as a burp cloth or anything else it may come in handy for throughout the day. Babies are messy little things so these are great for mopping things up.

4. I purchased lots of blankets before my little girl arrived. I kind of have a weakness for lovely blankets. But this cellular blanket from The Little Linen Company has been the most practical for Ava to sleep with. Its warm but still breaths. Its also very soft and washes up really nicely.

5. I got given one of these little bamboo towelling washers as a gift and it was so nice that I quickly jumped online and bought some more. They are soft for bathing baby and are also nice and lightweight which makes cleaning easy.

6. Now these are kind of a luxury item and you could use a towel or cloth nappy instead, but I really love how soft, small and easy these Babu burp cloths are to carry around. They also look much nicer draped over your shoulder if you want to go out with bubs.

7. This is also a luxury item but the B.box nappy caddy has also been a lifesaver. I have a double story house so it is annoying to constantly go downstairs if I want to change bubs. I keep some supplies in the nappy caddy and I can move it around the house depending on what I am doing.
