Fashion Spotlight: Ashley Madekwe

To kill time before the baby arrives I have been indulging myself with watching TV series. Sad I know! One of my favorites is a new show called Revenge. Apart from the story line, I also love the fashion. In particular I love how the character Ashley dresses. After looking for some outfits to show you I stumbled across her fashion blog called Ashley Madekwe Ring My Bell. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that like the character she is also dresses superbly in real life. Her blog is a must see.

Wedding Inspiration

Yes I am already happily married and no I don't plan on doing it again any time soon. But a girl can still dream about planning another beautiful wedding. Maybe for someone else this time. I am thinking something sophisticated and romantic. This Black, gold and ivory theme is just devine.

Designer of the day: Trip Haenisch

You have most likely seen Trip Haenisch's work at some point, after all he has been featured in almost every popular design magazine out there. He is also known for working with numerous celebrities such as Courtney Cox. I find his work very comfortable, his interiors are designed to be like a real home rather than a display home. When you look through his portfolio you can also tell that he really listens to what the client wants. None of his spaces have the exact same look. They are tailored to the client and very unique, yet all still have that comfortable feel. No wonder he has been hugely successful and very popular. The Alt Channel

I always get really disappointed that a lot of the design/blogging events are never in Australia. I wish there was more for us Aussie's to choose from. But this time we are finally in luck! I recently found out that you can take classes from blogging and media experts online. It has been organised by the people who hold the Alt Design Summit in Salt Lake City. You can register online at The Alt Channel. Each class is limited to 100 participants and has a $15 registration fee. Here is what is on for the rest of February 2012.

Designer of the Day: Mim Design

Todays designer is an Australian based Interior Design firm called Mim Design. They have worked in the residential, retail and hospitality industries. In all sectors they have created stunning spaces that really stand out. Their interiors are clean and simple but still soft and comfortable. A lot of their spaces begin with a neutral base and then colour is brought in to add warmth and a point of interest. In particular I like their use of artwork in all of their spaces.

I am always on the hunt for some great new styling ideas. I tend it dress fairly casually on a day to day basis so it is important for me to find some confortable outfits that are casual yet stylish at the same time.

I think these looks are perfect for a casual outfit that would be suitable for everyday wear. I might swap the heels for a cute pair of flats though!

Colour Colour Colour!

As always Adore magazine features lots and lots of colourful spaces. They never disappoint me! How adorable are these vibrant images. Nothing better than a little bit of colour to lift your mood. I have been pretty much stuck at home while I rest up for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy. Yep thats right any day now I could pop. Although my life has been fairly dull, it has also been relaxing. A little too relaxing maybe. I think I will be in for a bit of a shock when my baby girl comes along. Cant wait to meet her though. In the mean time I will enjoy kicking back and enjoy soaking up these lovely images.

Pretty party

How adorable is this housewarming party featured in Matchbook magazine. It is stylish and sophisticated but it is still comfortable and fun.  When you are entertaining I think it is good to show your decorating and design skills, but still make people feel as though they can enjoy themselves without wrecking your "perfect" table setting. I think this party is a perfect example. They have paired a rustic wooden bench with classic velvet chairs and a comfy throw. Then they have paired funky linen with sophisticated white dinnerware.  Although, I must admit the tall middle vases look good but are a bit much. Sometimes if you add to much height to the middle of the table I feel like it ruins the flow of conversation.
